A 5 ton boiler is an industrial steam boiler designed to produce 5,000 kg of steam per hour (5 TPH), equivalent to approximately 3.5 MW of thermal capacity. Depending on fuel type, boiler structure, and working pressure, the reference 2026 EXW price ranges from approximately USD 31,000 to 91,000 for WNS gas/oil-fired, DZL coal/biomass-fired, and SZL coal/biomass-fired boilers.
A 5 ton steam boiler provides an intermediate capacity option between 4 TPH and 6 TPH models, allowing the boiler capacity to be matched more closely to the plant’s actual steam demand. WNS offers a compact, highly automated solution for gas or oil, while DZL is suitable for coal or biomass applications at standard steam pressure. SZL provides a water-tube option for solid fuels and is available for steam pressures up to 2.5 MPa.

Note: 1、All projections are theoretical estimates assuming constant fuel prices. Fuel calorific values and efficiencies are expressed on an LHV basis (Natural Gas: 8,500 kcal/m³ | Biomass: 4,000 kcal/kg | Bituminous Coal: 5,000 kcal/kg). 2、Thermal efficiencies are standardized baseline values for comparison only; actual performance varies with fuel quality, moisture content, and operating conditions. 3、For condensing natural gas boilers, efficiencies above 100% reflect LHV-based latent heat recovery. 4、Extra operating costs such as electricity, water, labor, and maintenance are excluded. 5、Intermediate calculations use full precision; displayed figures are rounded. |

The reference 2026 EXW price of a 5 ton steam boiler:
5 ton gas/oil fired steam boiler (WNS): USD 31,000 – 50,000
5 ton coal/biomass fired steam boiler (DZL): USD 43,000 – 69,000
5 ton coal/biomass fired steam boiler (SZL): USD 59,000 – 91,000
Final price depends on working pressure, fuel system, burner selection, and auxiliary equipment.
Choose a WNS boiler when gas or oil is available and high automation, compact installation, and easy operation are priorities. Choose DZL when coal or biomass offers a lower local fuel cost and standard steam pressure is sufficient. Choose SZL for solid-fuel applications requiring higher steam pressure or a water-tube boiler design.
Available steam pressure depends on boiler design. For the 5 ton models shown on this page, WNS is available at 1.25, 1.6, and 2.5 MPa; DZL at 1.25 MPa; and SZL at 1.25 or 2.5 MPa. Select the working pressure according to the requirements of your production equipment and steam distribution system.
At full load, a 5 ton boiler consumes approximately 350 m³/h of natural gas, 850 kg/h of biomass pellets, or 680 kg/h of bituminous coal under the reference conditions used on this page. Actual consumption varies with fuel calorific value, boiler efficiency, feedwater temperature, and operating load.
Standard lead time is 25–35 days for WNS and 35–45 days for DZL/SZL, similar to the 4 and 6 ton lines. As a lower-volume item, 5 ton may run toward the higher end of this range during peak season — confirm current lead time with the factory.
Choose a 5 ton boiler when your required steam capacity falls between typical 4 TPH and 6 TPH applications and a closer capacity match is preferred. If peak demand is already close to 5 t/h or production is expected to expand, a 6 ton boiler provides more reserve. If demand is well below 4 t/h, a 4 ton boiler may avoid unnecessary oversizing.
A SZL5 uses a double-drum water-tube structure and is available for steam pressures up to 2.5 MPa, while the DZL5 is a 1.25 MPa model. The SZL5 is also heavier and uses a more complex boiler structure, contributing to a higher manufacturing and installation cost.
DZL5 and SZL5 can both burn coal and biomass on the same chain grate, but switching isn’t a zero-adjustment swap — air distribution and grate speed need retuning, since coal and biomass differ in calorific value and burn rate.
Certification requirements depend on the destination country, boiler pressure, and local pressure-equipment regulations. Always confirm local requirements before ordering. Yongxing holds a Class A boiler manufacturing license and ISO certifications, and can provide supporting technical documents such as material certificates, welding procedure specifications (WPS), and hydrostatic test reports when required.
A 5 ton steam boiler has a rated steam capacity of 5,000 kg/h (5 TPH), equivalent to approximately 3.5 MW of thermal capacity or 315–320 BHP (boiler horsepower). These conversions are useful when comparing boiler capacities specified in different units.
